We are partnering with Soles4Souls and accept all styles and sizes of new or gently-worn shoes.

Whether you want to donate used shoes or old running shoes, or donate everyday footwear, we accept a wide variety of items as long as they are still wearable.

You can bring your donations to the Fair where Soles4Soles will have a collection area.

The Friends of the Almaden Library will be accepting donations of gently used books at the service Fair. Books should be in very good condition. They should:

• be clean with intact bindings and covers
• have no musty smell, wrinkled or water damaged pages, or stains
• have pages with very little yellowing or browning at edges
• no underlining and no highlighting

HomeFirst will be collecting place setting items at the event. The items will be used to meet the basic needs of people on their journey to permanent, stable, and safe housing. Please bring any of the following: plates, glasses, mugs, flatware. Matching sets are welcome, but individual items will also be gratefully received. Can be new or used, but should be in good condition. HomeFirst will package and transport the items once they have been recieved.

Agape Silicon Valley strives to enhance the quality of life of the unhoused in Silicon Valley by identifying and serving the most vulnerable. With the help of community partners, they deliver food, water, supplies, and clothing to different unhoused communities throughout Santa Clara and Alameda counties. We will have the opportunity to assist them with sorting shoes and folding clothes for their recipients.

Operation: Care and Comfort was founded in San Jose in 2004 and its core mission is to boost morale and provide support to U.S. service members, veterans and their families.  This volunteer run nonprofit organization sends monthly care packages to deployed military units, provides access to free events through “Tickets for Troops” and helps families through their “Adopt a Military Family” program.  Please join us in writing cards to our troops and let them know of our appreciation for their service!

The Kindness Rocks Project is an easy way anybody can serve!  Participants paint smooth stones with inspirational words, positive symbols, or uplifting messages, then hide them in public places like parks and walkways for unsuspecting strangers to find.

Project Canis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every shelter animal gets a toy.  These toys help reduce stress and improve the emotional well-being of shelter dogs and cats. We will be recycling t-shirts and other fabrics to make braided enrichment toys for our furry friends.

LifeMoves in Silicon Valley provides interim housing and supportive services for homeless families and individuals at multiple sites from Daly City to San José.  The organization strives to provide safe modular housing and support to help clients swiftly return to stable, permanent housing. Many children are caught in this transition time so we will be assembling activity kits for them to enjoy. 

Red Cross volunteers and staff work to deliver vital services – from providing relief and support to those in crisis, to helping people be prepared to respond in emergencies. They roll up their sleeves and donate time, money and blood. They learn or teach life-saving skills so our communities can be better prepared when the need arises. They do this every day because the Red Cross is needed - every day.

Need to clean out your bookshelves? Consider donating your used books to the Almaden Library! The Friends of the Almaden Library host several book sales a year and you can help by donating gently used books for those sales. Books of all genres are welcome. (They cannot use magazines.) What an easy way to help maintain our community libraries with funds from book sales!

Sunday Friends is a community-driven nonprofit organization that empowers underserved families to break the generational cycle of poverty. Through its unique "Learn & Earn" model, the program unites parents, children, and volunteers to build essential life skills, foster education, and distribute vital resources like food and basic necessities.

The Grateful Garment Project was founded to help restore the dignity of survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking.  This charity partners with medical facilities and law enforcement to supply new clothing, toiletries, and essential comfort items when original clothing needs to be forfeited for evidence.

HomeFirst is working to support the housing crises in the Bay Area, specifically Santa Clara County.  They provide comprehensive services, emergency and interim shelters, and permanent housing opportunities for homeless and housing-insecure individuals, families, veterans, and youth.

JustServe is a free, web and app-based platform created by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that empowers individuals, families and groups to make a positive impact in their communities.  JustServe provides a free platform that connects people with meaningful volunteer opportunities while giving community organizations a place to post projects and reach potential volunteers.  

The Magic Yarn Project provides whimsical, giggle-inducing character wigs and beanies that invite children into the world of imagination and play during difficult times.
